HCNG – The Future Fuel in the World

What is HCNG?
HCNG Is hydrogen enriched CNG. It is mixture of hydrogen (h2) gas and compressed natural gas.
How to make HCNG?
Hydrogen is generated from same CNG. It is compressed natural gas. It is hydrocarbon. CH4 is major hydrocarbon present in CNG. Actually Hydrogen is generated from same natural gas. Out of natural gas hydrogen will be produced at same CNG.
After that hydrogen will be mixed with 18% blend. As per procedure first hydrogen will generate from natural gas and after mix it with CNG. And it will be become HCNG.
Benefits of HCNG:
- HCNG is more eco friendly than traditional CNG. And its also more efficient.
- HCNG produce 70% to 75% less carbon monoxide and produce 25% less produce hydrocarbon than CNG.
- Required very minimum modification in gas engine to use HCN
- Its first step towards hydrogen economy.
- Thermal efficiency increases with increase load.
- Better performance due to higher octane number.
Initiation in India
First initiative towards cleaner environment by using HCNG in public transport. The station was inaugurated in New Delhi (RAJGHAT).
